In fact, I think I still remember some of the visuals from it. On a rainy day at the beach, my grandmother, desperate to keep me entertained, took me to see Murder She Said, the first Miss Marple mystery starring Margaret Rutherford. It didn’t take me but a second to identify the book-to-movie adaptation that had the most profound impact on my life.
